ARSHAVIN ON WAY OUT

Arsenal midfielder Andrei Arshavin looks set to leave the club in the January transfer window or at least in the summer. Andrei Arshavin has been increasingly marginalised over the last few weeks due to his poor performances for the club in recent matches. Andrei Arshavin arrived from Russia in a deal worth around £ 13 million a few seasons ago. Initially, he was one of the best players at the club with his excellent dribbling skills and eye for goal. He was one of the best players in the match against Liverpool a few seasons ago, in which he scored four goals in one single match to create history.

However, recent performances have been so poor that Andrei Arshavin has been unable to get a regular game with Arsenal. He has been largely used as a substitute by manager Arsene Wenger. Hence, there have been suggestions that Andrei Arshavin would be open to a move back to Russia in order to get regular game time. Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala have extraordinary riches at the moment due to their billionaire owner. However, they are struggling at the moment and they have revealed that Andrei Arshavin is a possible target in the summer.

Andrei Arshavin has only 18 months on his current contract, which means that Arsenal will have to lower their price in the summer. Despite having come from Russia for around £ 13 million a few seasons ago, Andrei Arshavin is expected to cost only £ 7 million for his new club. His former club Zenit St Petersburg have also shown interest in signing the player on a permanent basis. Arsenal will not be able to sell the player in this January transfer window, as the deadline has almost passed. In Russia, however, rules are less strict than in England and they could potentially complete the transfer in the summer.
